Thanks so much everyone. Yes, Carola Ann-Margret and Addie, I guess lighting and composition can be almost the same thing. Jean: Thinking of adding documentary material to each image about how it's done (have more ideas than time though). Thanks Ana: I hadn't thought about classical style. That's feedback worth some deep thought. Lyle: Yes, everyone who deals with light should look long and hard at Rembrandt's lighting. And photography plus 3D modeled environmental lighting are such good lighting training tools!

Beautiful, Jim. Love the Rembrandt lighting!

Fantastic work, Jim! I have no idea how to do this type of digital art! Fascinating :-)

Love the composition of this piece as well as the lighting.

Excellent light setting - make the viewer focus on the expression on the face - Perfect!

Thanks Gasin, Jeff. Jeff, I get a lot from your work, Most all of it nourishes me.

saw this in the 'big show' contest with some of your other excellent work. This one resonates with me.....

Love the picture! Grew up on the South Side of Youngstown and Mill Creek park and the Old Mill was a wonderful part of my childhood. Now I have a wonderful memory hanging in my Family room.

Beautiful print! The colors are perfect and I am impressed with the quality of the matting and framing - very professionally done! In my case, the only thing I would change would be to get the nonglare glass, but that was my oversight and has nothing to do with the quality of the artwork I received. I love it!

I am very impressed with Fine Arts America. The frame print was produced and delivered in good speed. And I applaud the artist for a bravely passionate and intimate work of art.

Artist's Description

A 2D rendering from one of my 3D modeled scenes. Here, I challenged myself to create a strong mood and dynamic compositional balance - by using a single powerful light beam in a darkened room to illuminate a pensive mood. Thanks for viewing :o) _jim coe
