This may be the only illustration or photo in existence of the interior of the old train station. This print will be valuable for your sons and daughters in the future. Because the city of Portsmouth elected to tear down the train station and build a jail on the site, I felt I had to make this composite for an inexpensive memento for the left-out citizenry of Portsmouth Ohio. The original painting of the class J led Powhatan Arrow just in from Cincinnati on Easter morning and loading passengers for the continuing trip to Norfolk. Was deeded to the Southern Ohio Museum in Portsmouth almost 20 years ago but evidently disappeared from there. Because of that I have held onto the interior painting so that someday the right person will be able to make sure that it stays in Portsmouth.
