The Tree of Life is a giant live oak in Audubon Park in New Orleans. Its branches spread 160 feet and it is a frequent site for weddings. Named by locals, this impressive tree is thought to be one of Audubon Park's oldest. For more than a century it has served as a choice spot for children and adults to relax and play. Massive in size, there is ample room beneath its boughs to host a wedding party. The tree is located on East Drive between The Riverview exit and The Labyrinth.
The tree's registered name with the Live Oak Society is the Etienne de Bore Oak. It's an enormous oak with a girth of approximately 35 feet and a crown of more than 160 feet and is located beside the Audubon Zoo. It was No. 13 on Edwin Lewis Stephens' list of 34 original inductee trees when he founded the Live Oak Society in 1934. B&W version.
