Arjun L Sen
Medium
Digital Art - Finger Painting On Digital Screen
Description
this appeared first as a regular FAA uploaded image. Many of my pictures, including this one, are supported by text glosses that are integral parts of a word-picture artwork. I hope one day to present my artwork in a large-format book form like this. This example was quickly produced for by my friend and graphic designer Tania Dasgupta from Delhi, India, in a few minutes to give a rough idea, but of course she could fastly improve layput, presentation etc. It's just to give an idea of possibilities.

Thanks, Dawn. :). One day I'll get round to it. I love your work, so close to nature and Spirit entwined.

A book of your writings and artwork would be phenomenal and it's a great joy to see these steps being taken toward it! Many blessings on your endeavor -- we are all looking forward to the results in the near future we hope!!! fav

I just run out of words Arjun to express my appreciation not only of your art but even more for your brilliantly philosophical and poetic mind. I never tire of reading your words. But this is a great image to accompany such thoughtfulness. F/V
Arjun L Sen replied:
Dear Lianne, it is because of readers like you, of a certain level, that I know that it is worth trying to make some sort of book or e-book out of all these pictures and words together. When I get some spare time, I'm job.-hunting again right now...! Thanks for wonderful comment and voting! :)

How beautiful! Amazing that we're both working on book ideas (which is why I haven't been on FAA for several months. This is inspiring, and I sure hope to own a book of yours one day! v/f
Arjun L Sen replied:
Hi Dawn, Thanks for voting! I'd love to see your book when it comes out! I probably won't get a paper edition done - too expensive. I thought I'd put it out on Amazon Kindle once I've worked it out properly and got someone to help me design it! :)

What a fantastic prospect, Arjun! I'm so excited for you!!!
Arjun L Sen replied:
Well, it's a long shot, it's only an idea, really! I've got to find money to do this! heh-heh!

This prospect is so exciting and it will come into fruition. It deserves to exist and you deserve whatever attention you receive for both art and writing! Instant v/f
Arjun L Sen replied:
I sure hope so, too. I'm notvery good at pushing things like this so it runs the risk of just remaining an idea. I will take more advice in due course about how to go about it. The trouble with being an unknown is making a breakthrough. The first step is an exhibition of mounted canvas prints alongside writing panels. If that's a success then someone might get interested in making a book out of it. Also, the market is really bad right now and publishers aren't looking at new materisl, they are mainly sticking to established names. So it could take years. But it's worth holding on to the idea. :-)

Arjun L Sen replied:
Thanks, Blair, it's the support and good wishes and opinion of other artists like you that keep me going, really, otherwise it would be just like pissing in the wind, wouldn't it?

Text matter along with your Land scape composed so nicely.Wonderful design.Wishing you all the best in your creativity and writing both.
Arjun L Sen replied:
Thanks, Anand, I hope one day it happens! I think I'm coming to the end of a phase of creativity, therefore it's time to think of doing something with this body of work...

Arj, I am so excited about the possibilities that you have mentioned. I hope that you are able to accomplish your goals of having this project completed. You have so much to offer to the world. Your creative images and your insightful wiriting combined~~oh, what a unique, glorious, awesome and educational book that would be. I like the concept totally. Along with Tania's help, I know that you can do this. All of your admirers (and you do have many) will be a source of encouragement along the way. I have been thinking of having at least a series of paintings evolve into a book. I have so many paintings that I would have to select which ones to have so I would have some sort of cohesiveness and flow to the book. Perhaps I could use my Southwestern themed paintings, many with "Kokopelli", in the book. But this message is supposed to be about YOU, not me, so I will stop talking about my dreams for now. Good luck and good wishes with you project. It sounds like a fabulous idea and I hope it comes into fruition for you as soon as you wish. I know that you work full-time and you have other work to do, but as the quotation goes: "What the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve." Your admirer and encourager, Anne F/V
Arjun L Sen replied:
Thanks for your fantastic encouragement about my word-picture book project! I hope one day it happens. I think it's a wonderful idea do a book focused on your Kokopelli paintings. Definitely something worth developing! Your friend in art and life, Arj :))

You are so talented and full of creative energy! Great concept. I could read it as well, and loved it.
Arjun L Sen replied:
Thanks for such a lovely comment, Lena! :)) The print on this is rather small and difficult to read, but it was just to see rather quickly what it might look like if I tried to present the work as two-page spreads with a picture and the associated writing. I would hope to make the writing a lot bigger and easier on the eye, and the picture about two-thirds of the surfaced area of the two-page spread as I think that the visual should lead and the writing support....hope this makes sense...one day, I hope I'll publish...
Jane Small
It may not be quite as you would wish it to look yet, but it is a great start to post it here with the idea. Who knows what may happen. I hope your idea grows and grows and this book comes into being. v/f

Dear Arjun...I understood that...but with my iPad I am able to read the way it is in this site.
Arjun L Sen replied:
This is just to give an idea of possibilities and in fact the picture and text could be made a lot larger....indeed! :)
