Very satisfied with painting

This photograph is amazing. There are many images of The Watchman, however the beautiful fall colors in this photograph set this one apart from the others.

I gave this artwork to my niece for a wedding present and she loves it! I had been searching for just the right Tahoe winter scene as she had mentioned a photo of the lake with snow would be perfect. The minute I saw Vance's beautiful scene I knew it would be the one for her. Lake Tahoe holds many fond memories for our family as it was our summer vacation spot throughout my childhood and young adult years. My niece is an infertility counselor in Agoura Hills, CA and this image hangs proudly in her office. All her clients remark how peaceful and lovely it is. Thank you, Vance!

This is the first time I have purchased a picture on metal. It looks amazing! My father is so happy with present. Loren Salazar is so incredibly talented!

High quality and tastefully done. I’m very happy with the metal print I ordered of this photo. It looks even better in person. Thank you, Johan!

Wow. It is even more beautiful in person. This print, along with Johan’s “silhouette of a nude woman”, was my first order through fineartamerica and I could not be happier with the end result (I ordered a large metal print). Thank you, Johan, for capturing such a perfect moment.

Artist's Description

An aircraft that needs no introduction, the SR-71 is an icon of aviation. Developed from the YF-12 high speed, high altitude interceptor, the SR-71 Blackbird is known for it's high performance. The SR-71 Blackbird operates at altitudes of 80,000 feet and speeds over 2000 MPH. The airplane was painted all black to help dissipate the intense heat generated at those speeds. The SR-71 Blackbird is also designed to stretch a bit due to the thermal expansion created from the intense heat generated at high speeds. Used extensively on spy missions during the cold war, the Blackbird could fly higher and faster than most threats she faced. The Blackbird has been retired from regular servoce but examples are still flown by NASA for research purposes

There is something about a purpose of design and the engineering solution to achieve that purpose that always created a spark in my mind. The forms those machines took were captivating to me - the pointed nose of a fighter jet; the exposed driving wheels of a mighty steam engine, the streamlined shape of a submarine. And the stories of the incredible experiences of the men who operated those machines are the stuff of legends and sometimes nightmares. From an early age I tried to express my fascination through drawing. I suppose my first...
