Coiba National Park is the largest island in Central America and was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2005. Before being converted into a national park, Coiba was home to a penal colony. Coiba is a perfect location for snorkeling or scuba diving, as over 760 species of fish, as well as humpback whales, orcas, sharks, and whale sharks have been spotted off its coral reefs
