If there is ever anyone who has earned the title of World Traveler, that person is Santa Claus. There’s not even an argument than anyone else could come close to earning this title.

The intriguing thing about Santa is that he does not rely, nor does he need to rely, upon the latest GPS system or military technological tool to get around on the planet – a wise, intelligent elf, Santa Claus is comfortable using the tools that were high technology centuries ago – a sextant, a map, a globe, a compass, a pencil, paper, a chart. Even today, wise intelligent people can and do use these tools to get around, not necessarily comfortable with relying upon a distant, disembodied voice with a British accent to direct them where they need to go (sometimes, it’s in the middle of a field, when the disembodied voice endlessly repeats that there is a road there).

I am a fine art painter who creates representational images celebrating light, life, and color. A commercial illustrator for more than 20 years, I have been painting for most of my life, and in the last 18 years have focused exclusively on fine art.
