Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print.   Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum.

The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

All metal prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with mounting hooks and nails.

Metal prints are extremely durable.   They're lightweight.  They won't bend, and they're water resistant.

The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Love it. Wish I had bought the original back when it was available.

Customer very pleased

The print on aluminum was fine. Overall impression was "okay" and kind of "neat". So I almost rated this a 4. I believe that a 360 degree detailed view of the item would have been better, as it would have allowed me to better analyze how it would look on the wall where I intended it, and a better understanding of the mounting options. It was fine quality, but the mounting and overall impression did not impress. If you like the print, go for it But perhaps not on the metal medium.

Wow this is such a great photo. If you’re worried that it is too dark- don’t be worried. The colors in the photo are incredible and only enhanced by the twilight. The composition of the photo is flawless while also showing a vignette of Lake Coeurd’Alene that does not include large swaths of blue water. Bravo!

Love the colors in this photo , the contrast of whites & grays punctuated by brilliant warm fall hues is further enhanced by the misty & mysterious feel of the overall painting. So realistic it takes a moment at first to determine if this is a photo or work of art.

It was exactly what I expected & hopefully my soon to be grand niece will enjoy it. My niece loves it, already. I used to get the actual paper share, but it was always too small hung on the wall., This piece is an obvious upgrade to the actual paper share (which is only replica now anyway) Thank you again. Darren

Artist's Description

Photograph of the first powered flight, made by Orville Wright on 17 December 1903 near Kill Devil Hill, Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, USA. Wright can be seen lying on the lower wing of the 12 horse-power, chain-driven Flyer I. This photo was taken as the aircraft left the ground at the end of the take-off rail visible at left. The flight lasted for about 12 seconds, covering a distance of 36.5 metres at an airspeed of 48 kilometres/hour, a groundspeed of 10.9 kilometres/hour and an altitude of 2.5 to 3.5 metres.

About Science Photo Library

Science Photo Library was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of "Worlds Within Worlds", a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had an idea of setting up Science Photo Library. Since then, Science Photo Library has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life.
