Description
I made this clay piece in 2014. My main intention was to address issues concerning resources in any given human community and who gets what. It has a political nature to it, but the major question is who between the two is going to take the last drop of the water? Notice the hand giving does not belong to either of them, it is probably the government- well, just a third party. It goes on to explain why the disparity between the rich and poor is ever expanding. You see, most governments run their countries in a trickle-down economy where the elite own the means of production. They own huge shopping malls, gated estates, production and manufacturing firms all because they have access to huge capital investments. And this system believes that the wealth generated is going to eventually be shared by the poor too. Which in reality never happens because before it reaches the poor, the cost of living has risen up and hence the little income they get has lost its purchasing power leading them to survive in debt.
Thirsty? is also about gender inequality in third world countries, and seeks to bring to the table the results of decades of 'gender inequality' campaigns.
