People have amazingly varied and peculiar taste in art...you'll never know.

Great conversation piece. This should be in someone's home by now.

Alex Mortensen replied:

Yes, Tina, a very important quote and one that most thinking people would agree with - but the bigotted ones (and too many of them) would not. I doubt if anyone wants a headstrone as wall decoration - but one never knows as it could lead to interesting discussions.

But alas Alex, thoughts must be expressed. Did not someone once said "I may not agree with everything you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"?

The picture was all I expected

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS in red, (expensive taste, huh!) is my son's favorite car. This was a gift for his tenth birthday. He placed it on his bookshelf next to his computer, where it can be seen from his bed and desk. Once received, I was somewhat skeptical of my chosen size. But, with a frame I painted red to match the car, it turned out great. The quality of the print is awesome! Thank you!

About Alex Mortensen

I had been framing for my wife, Ekaterina Mortensen, and then at the start of 2008 decided I should do some paintings to put in the frames myself. Having told Katya for years that if ever I paint I would paint with a large brush on large canvases, I started with small ones - miniatures. My earliest miniatures picked up a Highly Commended in the Royal National Canberra Art Show in 2008, followed by a Second Prize (miniatures) in 2009. I have had works hanging at The Artists Shed in Queanbeyan, the TAP Gallery in Darlinghurst, Sydney - including a joint exhibition with my wife - and the Rotary Camberwell Exhibition in Melbourne, Royal Canberra Show, Sydney Royal (Art Section), Juanita's Studio Gallery at Austinmer, Solo Exhibition...
