This painting was done at Ocean City, Maryland, standing right there on the sand in the pathway between the dunes. It was hot and sunny, and it's a shame you can't hear the seagulls I heard.
About Lea Novak
I was born in Louisiana, and spent my early childhood moving from state to state until settling in New Jersey in third grade. My leanings toward art were placed on the back burner while I focused on high school, college, and making a living. Then, my artistic impulses came out--I painted a tropical island paradise in the garage as a consolation for rained out picnics. Hence, at the advanced age of 48, I began my art training. I continue to learn by doing, creating paintings from scenes that inspire me. I sold my first painting in 2005, and have had paintings accepted into several juried shows, both local and national, including the 2014 Oil Painters of America Eastern Regional Exhibit and the Contemporary Art Gallery Online (where I won...
