Beautiful! This looks like a crepe paper rose! You have impressive control of your brushes. I've done some hand painting in Photoshop and I know how difficult it is. A favorite!

Lois Bryan replied:

thank you, Priscilla ... I actually did the hand painting on this one in Corel Painter 2015. I've been using Corel Painter 11, but Santa brought the new version and for some reason have been struggling with it. This is the first one I've posted form the new program. Big fun ... once you've stepped on all the bugs, lol!!!

Wonderful rose, Lois! This is such a gorgeous digital painting... the treatment you applied is simply wonderful...love it! LF

Lois Bryan replied:

Mona, I'm beyond thrilled that you liked this one. You know that you and your amazing, glorious artwork have been an inspiration to me for a long time. Your richness of stroke and bold contrast and color are your hallmarks ... and they always take my breath away. I've been playing with Corel Painter 11 for a long time, but only recently received Corel Painter 2015 as a gift. Have been struggling with it a little for some reason, but I have to admit that painting in those programs and making the image do what I want it to do is so liberating!! So freeing and fun!!! That you took the time to stop by and leave such a beautiful note means the world ... thank you!!!

Sometimes flowers, especially roses, look just as interesting when they have died. This one certainly does, beautifull treatment too Lois.

Lois Bryan replied:

Chris, that's so true. I have a collection that I have a great idea for a still life .. I'd better get it snapped quick, though, I saw my poor, long-suffering husband giving it the evil eye a week or so ago, lol!!! Glad you enjoyed this one!!

Lois, Your words resonate with me....sometimes we know exactly what to do but with all that life throws at us it is sometimes hard to follow through! Jerry

Lois Bryan replied:

You've got me laughing ... Jerry, thanks so much for giving me the benefit of the doubt!! It really is so true, isn't it?? And I'd meant to get after these pretty flowers with the camera right away ... when I saw the roses droop, I knew it was too late ... but I am, if nothing else, determined!! Thanks so much for your vote of confidence in me!!

About Acrylic Prints

Acrylic Print with Mounting Posts

Mounting Option #1

Acrylic Print with Hanging Wire

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

I am so pleased with the photograph. It captures what I saw during my visit to Sedona perfectly! I especially loved the ease in hanging this art.

I ordered 5 large pieces of local Bentonville, Arkansas acrylic art for a client from Gregory. His response time is good and the product is well made. But the art itself... stunning. I will definitely buy more from him again!!

Artist's Description

A beautiful red and white rose, given to me as part of a lovely bouquet for my birthday last year, as seen over a week later. Looks like it needed a snip to the stem to help it absorb the water a little better. You'd think that as a former (and fanatic) rose grower (the hungry deer in our backyard and the voracious cane borers finally won the war), I'd know better than to let this beauty get to this sad stage. A good refreshing cut on the bottom of the stem, daily, and even putting the roses in the fridge at night, will help them stay fresher longer. Clearly, I should have taken my own advice!

This photographic image was taken with the Nikon D7000 and the Nikon / Nikkor 105mm micro / macro lens. A visit to Photoshop CS6 for a bit of brightening, then a full-on work out in the new Corel Painter 2015 for serious hand-painting fun. I think I'm finally getting the hang of the new Corel program that Santa brought!

About Lois Bryan

Lois Bryan

Welcome! I"m a photographer and digital artist living in the Mid-Atlantic area of the US. Drawing and creating my own little sketchy worlds are some of my earliest memories. Life did what it does and the art fell away, but I reconnected when digital photography was introduced. I enjoy adding to my love of photography by tinkering with computer art programs including Photoshop, Corel Painter, Rebelle and others , though I do not use Ai / Artificial Intelligence. I also love working completely freehand with no photo reference involved. All of which is allowing me to circle back to a semblance of my days of sketching and painting traditionally. Please be aware that we are currently experiencing a glitch in our system. The images in...
