This is one of my favorite pictures! I was considering buying it for some time, and now that I have in hanging over my desk, I enjoy it everyday. It is so sweet and it conveys lots of feeling. The little girl is unhappy, but her dog is her friend. It makes you feel better for the little girl.

An excellent experience although very expensive because of shipping to Australia. I was a little anxious about embarking on an online art purchase but fine art america could not have been more reassuring. I love Edward Steed's work and save all his cartoons from the New Yorker. I try and imagine, "who is this guy?" and just want to thank him for how understood his cartoons make me feel..

We are very pleased with our picture, it looks 3 dimensional and looks neat with the light shining on it.

Artist's Description

Much to my surprise this painting was chosen to go on the cover of the Canadian governements "Parliamentary Review" in 2010. Each year the Parlementarians hold a conference in a different Canadian city and choose a local artist's painting that best represents that city to go on the conferences magazine. The city hall when it was first constructed 50 years ago was considered to be very daring. It is still attractive and unusual although it is now surrounded by office towers that have made it look small by comparison. The design was by a Finnish architect. The large reflecting pool converts into a skating rink in the winter. The square can accomodates crowds of several hundred thousand people for various events during the year. It is always full of activity.
