Unfortunately, I made the mistake of getting the image too big. When I received the shower curtain the image was so blurry and blown out it was almost unrecognizable. Maybe there should be a recommended resolution for images on certain sized products

The curtain really adds a lot to the feel of the room. I think that for the money, it' a simple way to make a major impact on the décor. I'd like to thank Sydney, but I'm afraid he's beyond our reach!

Artist's Description

Totem poles are monumental sculptures carved from large trees, mostly Western Red Cedar, by cultures of the indigenous peoples of the Pacific Northwest Coast of North America. The word totem is derived from the Ojibwe word odoodem, "his kinship group". These largest of wooden sculptures were carved in cedar by the Tlingit, Haida, Tsimshian, Kwakiutl, and Bella Bella peoples of the Pacific Northwest. Their history is not completely known, but early explorers found poles in villages throughout Southeast Alaska. Apparently, totem-pole carving reached its heyday in the late 19th century with the arrival of metal woodworking tools. The animals, birds, fish, and marine mammals on the poles were totems that represented a clan, and in combination, conveyed a message. Totem poles were very expensive and time-consuming to produce; a clans status could be determined in part by the size and elaborateness of its poles. About Robert Bales

I am a retired teacher, coach, and athletic director. While my wife, Judy, and I were teaching she had a photo studio, and I had a dark room where I did black and white and color. Some were for the studio while most of it was just a hobby. When we retired in 2000, we sold our house in Eastern Washington and moved onto our boat, Last Class, and our motorhome. We sold Last Class a few years ago and bought a small house in Yuma, Arizona and bought another one in Emmett Idaho. Now we spend the summers in Emmett and the winters in Yuma. Over our 50 years of marriage, we have always had an interest in photography and both of us enjoy taking the photos for this site. I am heading for Alaska on a two-month trip so I will be back in Emmett,...
