As I grow older and my time serving in the U.S, Navy Submarine service gets further and further in my past, I my fond memories and my pride in service continually grows. The Silver Submarine Dolphins are in a prime space on my wall and remind me, and those that visit me, of my time on the USS Queenfish (SSN 651) and my pride in doing so. You never know when on a Facebook page about cats, you "meet" the artist of a beloved icon of Saint Gertrude of Nivelles, you have wanted for seven years!!! I have already found THE place to place Saint Gertrude, I can see her when in the kitchen. The quality of the icon is breath taking, so so precious. Thank you Miss Jennifer for this amazing icon!!! Born into an artistic family, (his grandfather was a woodcarver and furniture maker, and his paternal uncle and aunt paint) young Guido first discovered painting somewhere between the ages of 4 to 6 years old. With the encouragement of his family, Guido's first art challenge came at age 13 in the form of a public award. Although he did not win this art award, he continued to make artistic strides, and had his first personal art exhibit at the young age of 17. He received his art training at Accademia Albertina, in Turin, which was founded in 1672, at the special request...
