Description
This mask was created under the tutelage of Tlingit (Native American) woodcarver Tommy Joseph in Sitka Alaska, under a grant from Fractured Atlas. Wanting to devote my work to my deepest inspiration, I decided to let my dream consciousness decide what to carve. I set an intention before I went to sleep: I WILL DREAM MY MASK. This mask: male/female, Asian/African/Caucasian - Queer in every possible way – inspired by the music of the Universe – is the result of that dream. To see the development of the mask and to read about my dream, please see my blog at: .
