The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Based on a photo from the Irish National Archive accessed through Flickr Commons, this image shows a family of Irish Travellers in their decorated horse-drawn caravan, en route to the Cahirmee Horse Fair at Buttevant, County Cork, in the 1950s.
