This was fascinating to me. But then again, I amuse easily. Back in the fall, we, in South Florida, were sideswiped by a Hurricane. The storm did produce some 75 MPH wind. Later on, we had a really bad storm that spawned a brief tornado that went through Juno Beach, Florida. I'm not sure which one of those events caused this. But one of them did. What we see here is that a strangler fig tree had attached itself to a palm tree as often happens down here. One of the storms ripped it off leaving just this place where the attachment had been made. A strange creature like scar remains on the palm.
