Average Rating (5 Stars):

October 22nd, 2018

I ordered a metal print of this image and the metal came chipped and the print layer peeling, the quality of the photo was also very unimpressive, if you are going to sell up to 40 inches wide i would expect the resolution of the image to be very high and capable of the print without a loss of quality. Fine Art America also does not pay for return shipping, which cost me 60 dollars. So im out 60 dollars and have nothing in return.

October 21st, 2018

This picture should not be blown up to this size as it resulted in a low quality rendering. I attempted to initiate return today, before the 30-day window of receiving it. However, I was informed that the 30-day return window applies to the day of order.

Very nice. I have in my bedroom. Metallic - color is so vibrant.

Beautiful. Love the wording. Colors are vibrant but not obnoxious. I have in my hallway.

I have done several mission trips to Zambia. I have some art work in one of my bathrooms and this fit nicely with two masks at the side. I ordered this in metallic.

When I first saw this, I knew it would be a great match in my dining room. I wanted something more modern than the usual dining room pics. The colors are fabulous. I ordered in the metallic finish.

Artist's Description

Two Coasting schooners passing off Thatchers Island's Twin Lights in Rockport, Ma. The Alice S. Wentworth is in the foreground bound wung-out from Gloucester to Boothbay with a load of salt. When a coaster sailed with the wind astern and the mainsail to one side and the foresail to theother she was said to be wung-out or sailing wing and wing. Off her port bow is seen s Granite Schooner, perhaps the Ervin J. Luce heavily burdened with a load of Granite from Rockport to Boston. This was a common sight off Cape Ann in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

He studied oil painting with Margaret Taylor, Robert Benham and also painted with Emil Gruppe in Gloucester, Ma. While living and painting on Cape Cod from 2002 to 2006 he was greatly influenced by the watercolor work of his friend, the late Anton Stetzko who induced him to try that media. Bill lives and paints in Melbourne, Florida and was a Director of the Strawbridge Art League. While his early work was with oils and watercolor; he now works only in the mixed-media of Acrylics, Pen & Ink. Growing up in Gloucester, most of his paintings reflect that areas' famous tradition of sailing fishing and trading...
