I was disappointed that the image on this pouch was not very clear. The zipper doesn't work real well, either.

Its a 'warli' painting. It encapsulates the daily life of tribals engrossed in their earthly chores. The Warlis or Varlis are an Indian , indigenous peoples. They have their own beliefs, life, customs and traditions, which is the part of the Composite Hindu Culture. The Warlis speak an unwritten Varli language Their extremely rudimentary wall paintings use a very basic graphic vocabulary: a circle, a triangle and a square. The circle and triangle come from their observation of nature, the circle representing the sun and the moon, the triangle derived from mountains and pointed trees. Only the square seems to obey a different logic and seems to be a human invention . This particular painting depicts celebration.
I am Ivy Sharma. Born in a Bengali family and brought up in mainly north India, I have always been interested in drawing and painting, but had not taken it up as a full time profession. Since 2000 , I have been teaching Mathematics in schools, to the best of my abilities. In 2009-10 I was able to devote some time to myself, and to my creativity. I feel, painting is a medium to express my inner-self. I try to transform my feelings on canvas or on paper, the medium is immaterial, earlier it was water-color, and now its acrylic. Waiting for encouragement from you all. Recently while listening to Hindi film music, i had an inclination to transform those songs to paper. "Gulzar" a very famous lyricist in Bollywood, was my inspiration.Hope you...
