Description
Many Thanks to Juergen Roth who allowed me to use his Original Photograph of Trinity Church as a Model for this Painting. His Photo brought back Fond Memories of my Grandmother. You can see the original and excellent images of Boston and vicinity here: www.RothGalleries.com
Digital Painting of Trinity Church in Boston Mass. The inspiration for this painting was my Grandmother, who was the Organist for many years at Trinity. Then as she raised me during the depression, was blessed by hearing her beautiful music on the organ in her home. This had a lasting impression on me, making Organ Music my favorite instrumental for my entire lifetime. My aunt Ruth Johnston Surdez who was studying at what is now Harvard's school of Art, probably had a lot of influence on my life also, creating my intense interest in Art.
Trinity Church in the City of Boston, located in the Back Bay of Boston, Massachusetts. The parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts. The congregation, currently approximately 3,000 households, was founded in 1733. There are Four services on Sunday... Weekday services three times a week from September to June. Trinity is considered a "Low Church", while continuing to be a Broad Church parish.
In The parish is actively involved in service to the community, with pastoral care, programs for children and teenagers, and Christian education.
The church is home to several high-level choirs, including the Trinity Choir, Trinity Schola, Trinity Choristers, and Trinity Chamber Choir.
The former site was on Summer Street, but it burned in the Great Boston Fire of 1872. This church was erected with direction by Rector Phillips Brooks (18351893). Rectpr Brooks was one of the best-known charismatic preacher of his time. The church and parish was designed by Henry Hobson Richardson. Construction began and continued from 1872 to 1877. The Church complex was consecrated after completion in 1893.... Situated in Copley Square, within Back Bay section of Boston, Trinity Church established Richardson's reputation. It is the archetype of Richardson's Romanesque style of Archetexture. Which is characterized by the clay roof, polychromy, rough stone, heavy arches, and a massive tower. His Romanesque style was soon adopted for a number of public buildings across the United States.

Wow, Bob, this digital painting and capture is so gorgeous...a real show-stopper! I love the night photography and how you enhanced the night lighting that enhances the architectural details on this beautiful church...gives this work an ethereal and spiritual look and feel! I can close my eyes and just imagine soothing organ music playing, like that of your dear grandmother, Bob! I think that it is so wonderful that you have a special connection with this awe-inspiring church, as you shared in the Description that your grandmother was the first organist to play there! Love it! Fave! L/F/FB!
