Love it!

Congratulations on your new $ale Benjamin

Congratulations :)

Love this glimpse of history, Benjamin. Congratulations! Are you, by chance related to Chuck Yeager, the Air Force flier who broke the sound barrier in, I believe, 1949?

Benjamin Yeager replied:

It's funny b/c my father's name is Chuck Yeager and he flew a little for his business but he is not the General. He has had a little fun with it over the years.

Oh, this is really nice, well done! :)

Benjamin Yeager replied:

Thanks so much!

Thank you kindly to the buyer from Lake Mary, Florida! The sacrifice and dedication of these aviators is an amazing lesson for all time.

Artist's Description

The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of African-American pilots who fought in World War II. They were the first African-American military aviators in the United States armed forces. During World War II, African Americans in many U.S. states were still subject to segregation. The American military was racially segregated, as was much of the federal government. The Tuskegee Airmen were subjected to racial discrimination, both within and outside the army. Despite these adversities, they trained and flew with distinction. All black military pilots who trained in the United States trained at Tuskegee, Alabama. Original image courtesy of the Library of Congress. It has been painstakingly touched up to provide you the sharpest modern print.

About Benjamin Yeager

Thank you for stopping by my gallery! I appreciate and enjoy photographing the unique beauty of each area of America. I also search for the artistic value in everyday scenes and I have a big nostalgia itch that I scratch through photography. Entirely self-taught, I enjoy being outdoors and am always ready to capture images that catch my eye, mind or heart. I also love taking whimsical pictures that my two young children can enjoy. At FineArtAmerica, I am the group facilitator of Highway & Byways and Young at HeART. My love for photography grew as I moved around America. I was born (1977) and raised in a rural Indiana town and my photographic interests were limited to the rural subject matter of the area. I began to see new sights...
