This image brings together all my twelve drawings evoking the months of the year, beginning with the winter solstice in December and following the cycle of the seasons through to the end of autumn. These drawings were all done on the back of a 2016 calendar. I felt a powerful urge to physically overwrite the memory of that horrible year by depicting nature's seasonal rebirth and renewal. After drawing each picture on the back of a 2016 calendar page, I stuck it face down onto a clean sheet of paper, making it impossible ever to see those 2016 dates again. I feel this has been a healing exercise for me, and will help me to face the new year with at least some glimmers of hope and positive thought.
