This was a gift to a person who is restoring a prairie. This year she has 14 herons gathering on the banks of the Little Sioux River. The tote bag was well received.

Artist's Description

Another lightning struck tree, but a real pair of survivors above the tree line and exposed to harsh weather continuously. The pencil work is a technique called broad stroke. I have used it here to render the trees and the rock and if you look carefully, you can see each individual pencil stroke.

About Robert Miller

Robert died on January 9, 2016 after a very short illness. He was producing his art to the very end. In his honor, his family has set up a scholarship for Bishop Union High School students going on to college. Proceeds from the sale of his work will be used for this scholarship. I'm no Grandma Moses, but it's 2015 and I'm 91 years old. I was a college dropout, but managed to pass my state board examination by creating a school to prepare young draftsmen for the ordeal that the state board of architecture for the state of Florida required to be passed in order to practice architecture in their state. Subsequently, I practiced architecture for 45 years and have followed that with my adventures into sculpture, painting and drawing. I have...
