This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

Artist's Description
Last January my wife and I stood in our sun room as an unexpected snowfall came down outside, coating the branches of our Ginkgo tree, and taking a number of early robins by surprise. Two of the robbins landed in the tree and hunkered down to wait for milder conditions. I painted them after the driving snow let up.
About Craig Gallaway
Craig Gallaway has been an artist all his life. He studied art and Christian formation at the University of Texas at Arlington (B.F.A. in painting, 1973); Regent College in Vancouver, B.C. (M.C.S. interdisciplinary studies in art history and theology, 1978); and Emory University (Ph.D. in theology and spiritual formation, 1988). Craig worked in the publishing industry in Nashville, TN (1988 to 1995, where he and his wife, Deborah, also played their original music in the songwriters circuit) and then as professor of art and spiritual formation at Samford University (1995 to 2004).
