Description
Waves are caused by two sources:-
1. atmosphere(e.g. wind, temperature)
2. moon gravity(tidal waves)
1. atmosphere has great impact in waves production. when wind blow it causes disturbance so waves are produced. but these waves are produced all over the sea equally. same is the cause of temperature, change in temperature causes expansion n contraction of water, thus waves are produced. but this process occurs mostly in the middle and as the result, the water starts flowing towards edges or sea shores. thus producing waves on the seashore more than the middle.
2. moon gravity also causes tidal waves production. this process also occur mostly in the deep water i.e. in the middle of the sea. thus it also push the water towards edges or shores. and thus we observe more waves on the sea shore than middle.
so, all this shows that actually middle sea causes the wave production towards sea shores. and thus waves are more visible on the shores.
