The golden hour throws a warm light over Tyn Church (or Church of Our Lady before Tyn) on the old town square in Prague, Czech Republic. This view is available from the tower of the astronomical clock across the square and is quite the gathering place at this time of day! It's not very roomy on the walkway so you have to gauge your opportunities for a photo, shoot quick, and move along. Alternatively, you can hog the balcony for 30 minutes waiting for the perfect moment! :-D The Old Town Square is the oldest and most important square of historical Prague. It is surrounded with other historical buildings such as the Old Town City Hall with the famous Astronomical Clock, the imposing St. Nicholas Church and many houses and palaces of various architectural styles and colorful history. It has been a center of Prague Old Town since the middle ages, when it was a market place at the crossing of European merchants roads. Tyn Church dates from the 14th century but one of the towers was not completed until 1511. The towers stand 80 m, dominating the square. Interestingly, one legend says this church inspired Walt Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle. I guess alot of places want to claim that 'honor', since Segovia's Alcazar also claims to be the inspiration.
