Description
The sun sinks in the western sky as a storm grows on the prairie horizon. The lightning crackles and thunder rumbles while the waning moon watches from it's perch on high. The old house sits alone and empty except for the company of a stray cat that stopped to sit a spell. The birds take flight as the lightning sends it's message of an approaching storm, hopefully it will rain.
I blended numerous images into one. All images were taken in the Texas panhandle.

What a gorgeous capture. This has a sad and lonely feel to it. The stray cat seems a bit out of place, but he may have been left when the owners moved on. Sad but true. I like the birds roosting on the wire too. Excellent work.

I hope the lightning means the much needed rain is on the way. Awesome creation Karen, Love the feeling of this image. V/F
Karen Slagle replied:
Thank you Bob. Clouds and lightning don't always bring rain around these parts. It's mostly wishful thinking and dry, dry and more dry.
