Artist's description:
Uniques ~ A truly original (1/1) photograph
A place to find treasures in the small community of Welcome, NC where the folks like to say "Welcome to Welcome". This shop has often caught my minds eye as an interesting place to photograph. The roadside shop if often backlight or lighting is harsh. I found myself available on a perfectly cloudy day to make this image.
A black and white 5x7 direct positive fiber base print. This image is the actual photographic paper used in the photographers Kodak 2-D 5x7 camera at time of exposure. The image appears reversed from how one would perceive the actual scene because the camera lens casts an inverted image onto the photographic paper.
The paper is a direct positive photographic fibre base paper which has been carefully processed, washed and treated with selenium toner in the photographer darkroom.
The print has been dry mounted using bright white 8x10 archival matboard. The signed and dated top mat is dry mounted as well making this a solid piece and it is ready to hang. The wood frame is black and has Anti reflective Water White ArtGlass. The size of the finished piece with frame is approximately 11.5 x 9.5 x .75
Materials used:
Direct positive fiber base photographic paper treated with selenium toner. Bright White archival mat. Framing is black wood with premium anti-reflective Water White ArtGlass.
