On a moment’s notice - an approaching train’s growing rumbling, muffled by nearby passing traffic - jumped to a nearby plot of flowers. The rush of metal rolling on the trestle’s rails halted me at the corner of floral plantings. I didn’t have time to set myself at the far end of the raised flower bed. Spotting several yellow blooms in my viewfinder against the expanse of sidewalk before and below the raised rail line the front end of the yellow engine car appeared and began to speed across Barton Springs Road. Cars sped by beneath the trestle. A family crossed the thin walk on the far side. A jogger loped by, matching the pace of rail cars. This capture is the fifth of only six images I could capture with the engine visible — but I was happy (smiles).
