The beach towel is really just for laying on inasmuch as it is too big and heavy to put around your body, which is just fine. The artwork in it is beautiful. I can't wait to use it.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

They are said to be delicious and are known by other names like enoki. I always caution folks NOT to eat wild mushrooms, however, unless they are expert in mushroom identification or have an expert at hand.
CAUTION AND WARNING: There is a deadly mushroom that fruits at the same time and likes the same habitat; it is called Galerina autumnalis and will cause death if eaten. Here is a web site about this poisonous mushroom:

I always wanted to try photography, and my retirement offered an opportunity to do just that. The natural world is my first love. Here you will find pictures of things both large (landscapes, for instance) and small (macro) that catch my eye. I hope the images serve as a window into the natural world many of you don't have the chance to see. In a sense, I'm trying to create a guided nature trail, sharing what information I have about the subject. I'm always grateful for new and better information and welcome all input. Learning is food for the mind and soul. Nothing is ever harmed in the picture-taking process, but some things that wander into our home (like spiders) are carefully removed from the house after they serve as "models"....

Mushroom are a interesting group, you have the tasty ones, the deadly ones and the magic ones. Great study Carol. Almost looks like a mushroom family portrait. Excellent description. v/f
Carol Senske replied:
It's almost like a life portrait, isn't it. The magic ones (youth), the yummy ones (adult), and the poisonous ones (elderly). Now that was a strange immediate thought response! I'm thinking I need to go to the supermarket and buy some mushrooms to cook with our pork chops - yup, that sounds like a plan:>). Thanks for the V/F and, of course, your insightful, strangely thought-provoking comment - LOL

I'll stick to the grocery store mushrooms, this looks pretty though...v/f
Carol Senske replied:
Yup - me, too! I have many images yet to post, some gorgeous colors, some pretty shapes, some just plain unusual - none ever get eaten!!!! Keeping a healthy respect for the complexities of identifying a mushroom keeps us healthy:>). Thank you very much for the V/F - great dessert!, and no calories.
