The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
Station 2 on Jerusalem's Via Dolorosa recalls the condemnation of Christ and the imposition of the cross, including the flogging, mocking and crown of thorns. Two church structures are the foci of pilgrim activities at Station 2: the Church of the Flagellation and the Sanctuary of Condemnation. A Christian church was first built of the site of the Church of the Flagellation in the 5th century. The present structure was built by 12th century Crusaders. Following the Crusader era the church fell into disuse. Franciscans regained ownership of the structure in 1838. The present interior reflects renovations carried out in 1929, including Duilio Cambellotti's magnificent trio of stained glass windows depicting Pilate's condemnation of Christ, the flagellation, and the release of Barabbas. A crown of thorns adorns the ceiling above the altar in the small Crusader-era chapel.
