Jesus is Nailed to the Cross. Station 11.
This Station represents the place where Jesus Christ is stretched on the Cross, and nailed to it. How insufferable the torture - the nerves and sinews are rent by the nails. Jesus after being thrown on the Cross, extended His hands and offered to His Eternal Father the sacrifice of His life for our salvation. These barbarians fastened Him with nails, and then, raising the Cross, allowed Him to die with anguish on this infamous gibbet. Also they crucified two thieves in the same way and set up their crosses on either side of that of Christ. Above Jesus' head soldiers placed a plaque bearing in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin, Pilate's inscription of the charge against Him: βJesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.β
