Each morning after hard rolls stuffed with jelly and coffee Iíd stumble down Viale delle Mura Aurelie to the base of the hill to an intersection with Via delle Fornaci which in turn crossed Via di Porta Cavalleggeri which had to be traversed using a pedestrian underpass. This was necessary as the Porta Cavalleggeri was a very busy road. On the north side of the street was the Vatican City. The columns surrounding St. Peterís Square were a block or so directly at the visible end of the road. To the left a half block was the outside walls of Paul VI Audience Hall. Reaching over the top of the audience hall was the rising spire of St. Peterís Basilica.
