Artist's Description
The view from a stone wall at Gettysburg Battlefield near Steinwehr Avenue. Many photos were taken of Confederate and Union soldiers shaking hands over the stone wall at their 50th (1913) and 75th (1938) reunions. The 1913 reunion saw more than 53, 407 veterans attending this momentous event. The 75th and final Gettysburg reunion would see the dedication of the Peace Monument in commemoration of the 1913 reunion on July 3, 1938. Thank you for stopping by to view my artwork. Thanks, M.!! Gettysburg is like our second home. Hope you do get to visit this battlefield. It is expansive, and I have been blessed to walk its sacred ground for many years. If you do visit, you should also plan a trip to Antietam and Monocacy Battlefields in neighboring MD and Manassas/Bull Run in VA. Harper's Ferry in WV is also an important American Civil War landmark.
