Description
The Singapore Flyer is a giant Ferris wheel located in Singapore, in the Marina area, right next to the Marina Bay Sands resort, with the exact area being the Marina Promenade. The Flyer is based on the Londoneye, another giant observation platform. The Singapore Flyer presents a great view of the city and some of the attractions. The Flyer has a total height of 165 meters, and reaches 42 stories tall (and is taller than London Eye by 30 m). The Singapore Flyer was opened in April 2008 to the general public. There are 28 capsules in the Flyer, with each capsule holding 28 people. Each trip lasts around 30 minutes. The Flyer however is not the tallest structure in the region, with buildings nearby being taller. Sightseeing buses, along with an MRT station, provide easy access to the Flyer. From the Flyer, this was a view of the Marina Bay Sands and the buildings of the financial district.
