I've been a little under it lately, not feeling all that well and needing more sleep than usual. If there's a silver lining, it's that even a slight distemper of the body often produces vivid dreams, and so it has been for me.
The one that stands out most clearly brought Vincent back to roam the night with me. In this dream, we were strolling in a place completely unfamiliar to me, although Vincent was quite at home.
"Welcome to my jardin japonais," he said. "Although I have not been privileged to see that enchanted land in the flesh, so to speak, I dream of it often. And in my dreams I am always here, in a multi-colored universe quite unlike anywhere else."
Looking around, I could see that indeed this garden was quite unlike anywhere one might see in the real world. The sky was a misty shade somewhere between yellow and ocher, and what trees there were grew wild in tangled, silhouetted black against that sky.
