Great professional work. Thanks
Upon completion of the Columbia River Highway (1916), motor travelers identified the need for a 'comfort station.' Design engineer, Samuel Lancaster, envisioned Crown Point as the ideal site for 'an observatory from which the view both up and down the Columbia could be viewed in silent communion with the infinite.' Vista House was dedicated on May 5, 1918 and also serves as a tribute to Oregon's pioneers.
