Description
American small town, man driving a wagon as dog barks and bystander looks on. Anyone who drove a wagon for his livelihood was called a wagoner, wagoneer, or teamster. Horse and mule-drawn wagons were a familiar sight in early America before the advent of motorized vehicles. Typically, wagoners worked long hours for low wages. They hauled all manner of goods: grain, beer, salt, hides, barrels of nails, lumber, and ice, the whiskey deliveries, however, seemed to take a bit longer to reach their destination.
