Artist's Description

The Ste. Claire was launched in 1910, and entered service later that year as part of the fleet operated by the Detroit & Windsor Ferry Company. For 81 years, this vessel carried passengers to Boblo Island, an amusement park between Detroit and Windsor in the Detroit River. After the island park closed in 1993, she fell into disrepair. She is currently undergoing restoration, and all of us who remember boarding her wait for her return.
