Wall Niche Shelf Udaipur City Palace India.
In this image I have captured a small wall niche from one of the wall corners in the City Palace in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. It must have held a romantic night lamp for many a night � in fact, for centuries. It did surprise me that I found these rustic rough-finish niche-type wall shelves in the same palace where there were so many incredible murals, objets d�art and architecture showing a very high level of craftsmanship. Nevertheless this little niche shelf has its own charm, and I loved it.
The City Palace of Udaipur is a palace complex in Udaipur, in the Indian State of Rajasthan. Showcasing some spectacular architecture, it was built over a period of nearly 400 years being contributed by several kings of the dynasty, starting by the Maharana Udai Singh II as the capital of the Sisodia Rajput clan in 1559, after he moved from Chittor.
