I was born and raised in San Jose, California. Art and being artistic has been a big part of my. My mother would do drawings, so peaceful the images were. My father took photos most of his adult life, but especially after having a life changing event, he developed black and whites at home and it was his hobby. I took photography while going to San Jose State and found it fun but not to my major. About ten years later when our daughter was 2, I took up photography again, shooting landscapes and seascapes on kodachrome 64 etc. Color slides provided me with the image quality I looked for then. Using a Minolta x370 It was fun. I entered a few contests but the family time grew and my interest fell off after a few years. While in college, my...

I love the lines in both versions of this abstract, Joe. Strong verticals combined with the very subtle horizontals created by the flow of the water as well as the contrasts of light and dark make it very attractive to me.
