I was disappointed that the image on this pouch was not very clear. The zipper doesn't work real well, either.

Artist's Description

Cowboys survey the scene of death at a water hole, or charco, during the once in a 100 years drought on the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation. The cattle drink the contaminated water, get stuck in the mud and die. Their corpses are picked clean by buzzards.

{NOTE: This and the next two images were shot on assignment for KVOA TV News. 16mm color film was taken for Channel 4, the black and whites for myself. KVOA TV anchorman Dick Mayers flew me in his Cessna to the Reservation.}

I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
