Original Watercolor painting, 'Colorado Elk Range View', by Cascade Colors / Lynn Cyrus. This watercolor painting captures a view from atop the summit of Castle Peak, a 14er (fourteener) in the Elk Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains near the mountain community of Aspen. 14ers are mountains of 14,000 feet elevation above sea level or higher, and are very popular hiking destinations. The mountains of the Elk Range are composed of a variety of colorful shades of rock, which I have highlighted in this impression of the view, with rich red, maroon, orange, golden yellow, and brown tones, with a clear blue morning sky above. A dusting of snow covers some of the peaks and ridges, the earliest hint of winter and a sign that autumn will not be here for long. Nature / landscape art, of a rocky alpine wilderness scene. This painting would be a perfect gift for the fourteener enthusiast!
