Description
"Wavelength plus or minus 460 nm" is a night view of one of the two 200 foot towers on the 3,000 foot long Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge which crosses the Missouri River between Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Omaha, Nebraska. Named after a former Nebraska senator, it opened on September 28, 2008. Programmable lights can display multiple colors and be brightened or dimmed; the lights were donated by Gallup whose corporate headquarters are on the Omaha side and adjacent to the bridge landing.

Very cool. Is 420 nm the actual wavelength of the lights on the bridge?
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
Good question, Jim - but I doubt it :) And I've never actually seen them blue - I just played with the white balance until I got something I liked. Then I looked up "blue" and got the idea for the title. Probably more than a little misleading . . . Thanks for liking the image, though, and for the comment.
