Welcome to Happy, Texas--"The Town Without a Frown." I love the names of towns across the Lone Star State: Loving, Comfort, Paradise, Smiley, Friendship, etc. Happy, TX, is one of my favorites. The small west Texas town sits at the southern edge of the Texas Panhandle, straddling Swisher & Randall counties. The town's name is linked to the small stream, the Happy Draw, named by 19th c. Cowboys happy to find water in the semiarid west Texas climate.
