When I work with paints and pastels, the bubbly energy of my mind is converted into dynamic motion though multiple speedy dashed marks and layers of color built up throughout the drawing. Rarely drab in hues, I strive to incorporate every color into each element pictured. I begin my pieces with a demo collage to help plan out placement and perspective then a rough line to guide my marks. I know a piece is done when the depth and color of the entire drawing is balanced and the eye moves through the composition in an endless motion. When I am totally vested into a drawing, I often work late into the night and skip a meal or two. Time flies and I’m truly doing what I love best… nothing short of the smell of delicious cooking can stir me...
