The artist is my son and is very talented. In high school he was accepted by Chicago Art Institute but couldn’t afford the tuition. He graduated from Fredonia State University with a Fine Art degree.
It was a dark and stormy day....really! But right before sunset, the sky on the horizon cleared enough for the sun to bathe the aqueducts in warm light. After taking many many many pictures, the sky above the aqueducts periodically cleared and there was the moon! What an evening shot that turned out to be! The Aqueduct of Segovia is a Roman aqueduct and one of the most significant and best-preserved ancient monuments left on the Iberian Peninsula. It is the foremost symbol of Segovia, as evidenced by its presence on the cityss coat of arms. Researchers have placed its construction between the second half of the 1st Century AD and the early years of the 2nd Century. The first reconstruction of the aqueduct took place during the reign of the King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, known as the Catholic Monarchs. Don Pedro Mesa, the prior of the nearby Jeronimos del Parral monastery, led the project. A total of 36 arches were rebuilt, with great care taken not to change any of the original wor...
