After watching an osprey bringing branches to this nest which was built last year on top of a tall fir tree, another osprey flew in looking for a fight, its talons extended as it descended on the other raptor. Eventually five ospreys were flying overhead, sometimes circling the nest but also flying far away amongst the treetops on a very windy day. There was a lot of calling back and forth and I can only assume the birds were trying to claim the nest as their own.

I am a digital/mixed media artist and nature photographer living on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. I'm surrounded by the ocean, forests, mountains, and abundant wildlife, and these things bring me joy that I hope finds its way into my images. When you view my work, my wish is that you feel a sense of intimacy that deepens your own connection to nature. Aside from photography, one of my passions is creating portraits of cats, dogs, and other animals. I also have growing collections of abstract landscapes, trees, flowers, and musical instruments.
