The ruins of Whitby Abbey in Whitby, Northern Yorkshire, England. The first monastery on its site was from the Anglo-Saxon era in 657 AD. The church was at its most prosperous time by the 1500's until it was disestablished in 1538 by Henry VIII resulting in its inevitable ruin.
So this is a new little venture for me. I'm a completely self-taught photographer. I've always been interested in the arts ever since I was a little one spending my summers in my Aunt's art classes. I've also enjoyed painting and drawing, which I hope to return to soon. Lately I have had a huge interest in photography. I am living abroad with my husband and we have had many opportunities to travel around Europe. The many different landscapes, cityscapes, and cultural environments have been quite the inspiration. My plan was to document our travels and experiences through photographs, but in doing so I discovered the beauty in photographs and a new artistic outlet for myself.
